Lean Lapland: The [very] northern approach to continuous improvement

A number of companies from the North East rallied round the jolly man of the season to support him to bring about improvements before his big night.  Findings from the leading inspectorate GAPRA (Gifts and Presents Regulatory Authority) left Nicolas in deep water.  On the first of December a workshop was held, facilitated by the local training company LDR Squared, to ensure that the breaches of quality, rising costs, and late deliveries weren’t to continue.

Hallow-lean celebration, getting a B-IT Scary at AVID

Not a very spooky celebration but 17 Learners at AVID Technology have successfully completed their EAL Business Improvement Techniques Qualification with Northumberland based training provider LDR Squared. Throughout the training process AVID Adopted a six sigma methodology in their approach to continuous improvement.  They used video footage of their manufacturing process to analyse their processes and reveal variation and the seven wastes.

Funded Training in August 2011 – July 2012

Sir John Hall plants tree to celebrate VQ DAY

 To mark Vocational Qualifications (VQ) Day Train to Gain provider LDR Squared invited Sir John Hall, and local Labour MP Dennis Murphy to plant the first of many trees on the ecological site at Earth Balance in Bedlington Northumberland.
